Singleton Heights Public School students Blayne Chandler and Cooper Bojar, Broke Public School students Yarra Pappin and Orlando Emmett and Sarah Rich from Mount Pleasant made the mixed under-13 team.
More than 80 Hunter students, split into 15-member sides, trialed for the final team on Monday March 25 at Maitland Park before dozens of devoted parents and coaches.
"We started the trials with warm ups and drills, had lunch, then we were sorted into teams of fifteen to play some trial matches against each other," eleven year old Blayne Chandler said.
The five all play together for the Singleton Roosters and will now make the trek together to Newcastle on Friday afternoons to train with their PSSA regional team.
"Playing in a team with people you don't know can be difficult but communicating with each other is the key to being successful," young Cooper Bojar added.
The five will take on other NSW under-13 teams on Tuesday May 21 in partnership with the Hunter team and furthermore may be selected for the state team post state cup.
